But there is more…

Between the time I took the app and the time the policy was issued, the company sent out their letters to clients announcing their departure from the business. The client got a letter, or course, just as I was leaving for Montana. Plus, the client got approached by another agent and offered a product that paid more interest in the first year (bonus). The client called me while I was at the lake and told me he wanted to cancel. I told him why he should keep the product but he wasn’t listening. I put him off, saying I would survey the market and see him when I got home. Right that day I got online and sent him a card.

He called me on the 12th, while we were on I-90 near the Idaho border. He said he got my card and remarked how nice the picture looked (it was one of me). He asked if I had cancelled the annuity yet. I had not, and told him I’d see him on Tuesday with the paperwork to cancel.

I saw him on Tuesday with a cancellation form and plan B In my briefcase. As we sat at the table, he had my SOC card and pointed to my text. He said, “If I can get 3.97% guaranteed for 6 years, that’s what I want!” We reviewed the policy, I showed him everything was in the contract just like my SOC card said, he signed the policy delivery receipt and we talked about hunting for thirty minutes.

I tell you, saving the sale with this system is a story I’m telling to other agents!
